Job Description:
Essential Job FunctionsThis position reports to Dean's Assistant of the College of Science, Engineering & Technology (CSET) and under general supervision, provides administrative support to professional staff and subordinate supervisors in the assigned college.What You'll Do
  • Manages office operations including mail, copy machines, and other office equipment
  • Processes Copy and Supply orders
  • Schedules and secures resources for meetings, conferences, and work unit operations
  • Schedules conference room
  • Manages/maintains department vehicles and schedules vehicles or contract buses when needed
  • Assists faculty with travel arrangements and reimbursement requests
  • Serves as a first point of contact for individuals and groups, provides basic organizational information via phone, in person and through other communication mediums, and routes more complex inquiries to the appropriate entities in CSET
  • Assists new employees/student employees with office supplies and office machines
  • Upkeeps of department email mailboxes
  • Sends, receives, copies, and distributes communications to the appropriate entities according to established policies and procedures under general supervision
  • Mail distribution/upkeep of staff and faculty mailboxes within departments
  • Maintains established methods and organizational systems directed at the maintenance of electronic/physical records related to work operations according to established policies and procedures
  • Stores Syllabi reporting to Repository
  • Conducts annual computer equipment inventory and reports it to IT
  • Coordinates tri-annual confidential shredding, loading, and delivery to designated area
  • Coordinates Assessment report data
QualificationsMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Associate Degree at time of application

  • Associate's degree with experience in a higher education work environment

The work hours for this position will be between 7:45 a.m. - 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.A criminal conviction investigation will be conducted on the finalist(s). A six-month probationary period is required for this position. If you have questions regarding this, please contact Human Resources.Compensation and BenefitsSALARY INFORMATIONHourly wage range of $18.50 -$20.00This position is not exempt from the overtime provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA).BENEFIT DETAILSThe UW System provides an excellent benefits package to meet the diverse needs of its employees. We participate in the Wisconsin Retirement System (WRS), where employer contributions begin immediately and employees are fully vested after 5 years of service. The UW System also provides supplemental retirement savings programs including a 403(b) and Deferred Compensation.In addition, employees receive several types of paid leave benefits, which are prorated for employees working less than 100%. This includes 9 legal holidays, 36 hours of personal holiday and between 96-130 hours of sick leave annually.
