**Description:**
**Mount Sinai Rehabilitation Hospital** a member of Trinity Health of New England is looking for a **Department Assistant** to join our Outpatient Rehabilitation team.
**Position Purpose**
The Department Secretary is responsible for providing exceptional customer service to all patients and clients of Inpatient Rehab and is a vital member of the rehab team working with the PTs, OTs and SLP ensuring the patients receive the care they need.
**What will you do:**
+ Manages all incoming phone calls,
+ Conducts initial patient interview to obtain insurance and billing information.
+ completes a variety of clerical and data entry assignments.
+ Responsible for the scheduling, registration process and managing the electronic medical records.
**Minimum Qualifications**
+ Education: High School diploma or general equivalency diploma (GED) required. Associate's preferred
+ Preferably 1 -2 years' experience in healthcare
+ Excellent computer abilities. Excellent written, oral communication and customer service skills.
+ Familiarity with medical terminology.
+ Excellent organizational skills with the ability to follow written and verbal directions with multiple steps.
