M-F; Weekends possible; two weeks after academic year ends
Summary/Objective of Position:
Under the general supervision of the dean, department chair assists with vital academic operations, including assessment, course scheduling, program review, and advising. This position is open only to current full-time faculty members who want added service/responsibility in their departments.

Chair's duties include, but are not limited to the following:
a. Participate in regular meetings with deans and faculty to address academic issues including program development and student outcomes.b. Assist the Dean in good timely communication with the faculty and students, and in building trust and community within the School especially through attentive communication and problem solving.c. Supervise the assessment of courses and programs in Chair's Department, respective disciplines, and academic divisions;d. Ensure that academic advisement services for students in the Chair's Department or program are conducted in a consistent and quality manner.e. Participate in the process of strategic program reviews, planning, and formulation of budget plan documentation ensuring alignment with College's overall strategic plans.f. Assist the Dean with strategic course scheduling, including use of adjunct instructors;h. Work with Registrar to ensure that students stay on track with academic programs;i. Other responsibilities as determined by dean/school.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education & Experience
Minimum:
Must be regular full-time faculty at Din College. Master's degree or higher.
Preferred:
Ph.D. preferred
Knowledge:
Must be able to demonstrate skills in leadership, conflict resolution, etc.
Skills:
Must have strong, effective public relations skills.Ability to promote self-awareness, academic development/achievement.
Abilities:
Ability to engage with colleagues and work independently. Demonstrate completed work in a timely manner.
Physical Requirements, Work Environment & Travel:
Most activities will require long periods of sitting. Travel as needed.
