As the Department Manager of the Structural division, you will work closely with our clients as well as manage a team of Project Managers, Inspectors, and support staff. The position can be based at either our South Hackensack, NJ or Chester, NJ office.
Responsibilities:
+ Perform structural analysis, design, and assessment of building structures
+ Work closely with our new and reoccurring clients in preparation of upcoming projects
+ Prepare detailed design calculations, technical reports, and assessment reports
+ Manage subordinate staff on a day-to-day basis
+ Ensure the satisfactory performance of staff on specific projects
+ Develop plans and specifications in accordance with client requirements
+ Serve as a Project Manager on select project assignments
+ Monitor the status of multiple projects
+ Identify staffing needs and coordinate with the Talent Acquisition team
+ Interview candidates for vacancies in the department
+ Preparation of proposals and qualification statements for new contracts
+ Manage client relationships and engagement with the clients
+ Identifying new clients and business development opportunities
+ Work collaboratively with other departments and engineers on projects with infrastructure authorities on Federal, State, regional, and locally funded improvement and development projects
+ Assist if needed with inspection and design which requires work both in the field and in the office
+ Manage the department/ project budgets.
+ Mentor and develop junior engineers
+ Remain current with the latest engineering techniques and practices
+ Attend meetings outside of working hours if needed
+ Adhere to internal standards, policies, and procedures
+ Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
+ Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, or equivalent
+ Licensed Professional Engineer in New Jersey State, and New York State
+ 15- 20 years experience as a Senior Engineering Manager with an organization involved with the inspection, design, and construction of bridges culverts, retaining walls, and overhead sign structures
+ 15 years experience in Project Management
+ Experiences working with New Jersey municipalities
+ Significant experience working with the NJDOT, NJTA, NYC Transit, NYCDOT, and NYSDOT
+ Interpersonal communication skills
+ Excellent writing, editing, and document organizational skills
+ Comprehensive knowledge of and familiarity with technology, software, and automated processes in design and construction projects
+ Experienced in management of consultant agreements either as consultant manager or the client
+ Demonstrated experience as Project Manager in Design and/or Construction Inspection projects
