The Department Manager is responsible for providing guidance for the uniform application of the company's management and union salary administration policies. Manage the executive compensation process and systems. Recommend policies, plans and procedures with respect to fair and equitable payment to exempt employees. Interpret reports and surveys to maintain the Company's competitive position with regard to compensation levels and structures. Ensure Company compliance with Federal and State legislation as it applies to compensation programs.Required Education/Experience
* Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Economics, Statistics, Human Resources or related field. and 8 years work experience or
* Master's Degree in Business Administration, Economics, Statistics, Human Resources or related field. and 6 Years work experience
Relevant Work Experience
* 6 to 10 years of broad experience with compensation and/or benefit plans. Required
* Experience with legal, accounting, financial and design implications of salary and variable pay compensation programs and non-qualified benefits. Required
* Certified Compensation Professional Preferred

* Administer and maintain an adequate classification and compensation program for all personnel. Recommend and prepare policies, procedures and controls governing salary compensation practices.
* Plan and direct the administration of the Company's executive compensation plans and prepare related reports.
* As directed, prepare confidential reports for the Board of Trustees, the Chairman of the Board, President and Chief Executive Officer, and other executives of the Company.
* Prepare and update rate case exhibits, testimony and interrogatories for compensation programs filed with the Public Service Commission
* Assist with preparing the Compensation Discussion and Analysis report including the compensation tables and potential payments upon termination of employment or change in control tables included in CEI's annual proxy statement and Consolidated Edison Company of New York's information statement.
* Work in concert with all levels of management to properly evaluate and recommend solutions to problems pertaining to salary compensation programs, policies, procedures and controls.
* Research laws, regulations, etc. to obtain current information on topics relevant to salary matters.
* Act as authorizing agent covering changes in individual salary and position title.
* Direct the activities pertaining to the information data base utilized for salary administration.
* Continuously review the data processing systems and develops the most effective and efficient methods of operation for salary administration purposes and required reports.
* Advice and counsel all levels of management in the day-to-day administration of the Company salary program and policies.
* Perform other related tasks and assignments as required.
