Summary

Partner with team members with the overall goal of providing quality service and operational support while being responsible for incoming and outgoing paper and electronic items to the Bank. Understand the entire lifecycle of the operation functions in this area, while providing high attention to detail to support our banking centers and internal and external customers. Deposit & Payment Services Associates have the opportunity to serve as experts in reconciliations (DDAs, GLs, debit cards, ACHs, etc), verification of deposits, debit card production, ACH processing, check processing, and/or mail room functions. Stakeholders on this team are one desk away from the customer and serve as an internal support area for customer facing staff. General responsibilities may include, but are not limited to internal customer service, data entry, reconcilements, research, report generation, tracking, troubleshooting and repair of rejected transactions. Operates various machinery to encode, add, cancel, photocopy, and sort checks, drafts, and money orders; for collection and to prove records of transactions by performing duties listed below.

The essential functions are noted below; however, at Camden National responsibilities may evolve over time given organization, technological and/or staffing changes. At any point other duties may be assigned.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

Critical functions include, but are not limited to:

Reconciliation (DDAs and GLs), new accounts, gift cards, official checks, etc; verification of deposit; high dollar check review

Reconciliation (debit card and ACH related), debit card maintenance and production, general ACH processing

Check processing POD (data entry, reject correction and balancing), import of ATM files hourly, run first class mail

Serve as an expert on the lifecycle of customer transactions (with the exception of loans)

Monitor the validity of information inputted into the system

Support internal customers by providing phone coverage and support. Serve as a guru for banking center staff on transaction processing. Estimate 10% of time is answering support calls from internal Stakeholders.

Process transactions

Work closely with software and equipment vendors for service and support as needed. Take initiative to reach out them and resolve any issues as they arise.

Deposit & Payment Services Associates may perform any combination of the following functions:

Perform maintenance functions, including but not limited to: address changes, maintaining CIF, etc.

Verify customer changes and information

Special handling of items, such as unposteds and item returns

Print debit cards and disperse them to Customers in a timely manner

Education and/or Experience

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Skills

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

Ability to successfully communicate (verbally and written) and understand WHY something is done the way it is (eg. why we can't cash that check for example) and articulate it appropriately to internal customers, who will then be responsible for notifying the end Customer.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. Basic understanding of accounting skills, to include but not limited to, debits and credits.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Computer Skills

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of internet software, spreadsheet software, and processing software. Should be able to perform all basic functions of products within the Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, etc). Experience with an instant messaging system, including Cisco Jabber preferred. Successful individuals for this role must also understand the basics of navigating Microsoft Windows (how to open systems, which mouse button to click to perform which functions, identifying files on shared drives, shortcuts, etc), as well as basic system terminology (home button, start key, etc). Must demonstrate proficiency with 10 key as well, successful Deposit & Payment Services Associates will average 7,500 keystrokes per hour with a high accuracy and an error rate less than 2%.

Ability to follow instruction and procedure accurately and are comfortable working in an environment with an unending cycle of work.

Ability to perform repetitive functions and become an expert on tasks under area of responsibility, while questioning irregularities and chasing down unique processing finds.

Ability work successfully in a team environment and independently. Collaborate with team members to complete department functions effectively.

Ability to operate special equipment and hardware in a safe and productive manner, to include: mailroom equipment, debit card instant issue printer, etc.

Top-notch attention to detail skills to maintain the highest level of accuracy when handling daily functions.
