Well-established full-service commercial bank is seeking an AVP-Deposit Portfolio Manager to join their dynamic team in NYC. You will play a pivotal role in monitoring client deposit portfolios for deviations from specified deposit volume strategy. Your responsibilities will include reviewing compliance profiles and providing recommendations for remediation where necessary.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the strategy to grow Institutional Banking business within a framework to ensure long-term deposit growth.
- Demonstrate strong customer service, sales, interpersonal, and communication skills while maintaining a positive and customer-focused approach.
- Provide customers with exceptional financial support and recommendations to ensure the highest levels of service delivery.
- Conduct all retail banking financial transactions and resolve issues related to bank products and services with the goal of deepening relationships.
- Leverage the bank's service and sales culture to increase customer engagement.
- Work professionally and knowledgeably to address complex financial needs face-to-face with customers.
- Collaborate with Senior Vice President and team in initiatives that enhance the customer experience in all aspects of deposit management.
- Stay informed about current market conditions, and regularly conduct competitive analyses to maintain the competitiveness of our deposit services and uncover new business opportunities.
- Oversee portfolio costs and establish necessary control measures to manage target balances and rates, ensuring adherence to internal procedures, compliance standards, and regulations.
- Perform timely ongoing annual reviews while effectively understanding KYC/AML onboarding requirements and compliance policies for institutional customers.
- Review customer onboarding documentation to ensure accurate reflection of the Bank s risk appetite.
- Ensure thorough and on-time completion of financial documentation such as financial statements and required tax forms for customer profiles.
- Complete renewals & annual reviews in a timely manner to maintain a satisfactory rating from internal audits with no risk rating failures or Bank examiners.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Proven ability to provide exceptionally strong financial support, organizational skills, and solid knowledge of Treasury Management or Wholesale Banking.
- Minimum of 7+ years of experience in a banking environment handling deposit portfolios with a significant focus on commercial or institutional banking.
- Proficiency with ICS, CDARS, Escrow Accounts, DDA/MMDA, Cash Management/Online Banking, and FX experience or knowledge.
