Job Description:

Primary Purpose:

The Chief Administrative Officer oversees the International Department for International Leadership of Texas. This includes the J-1 Teacher Program as well as the F-1 Student Program.

Education/Certification:

  • Master's Degree in Business, Communications, Public Relations, Organization Management, Education, International Studies or a related field
  • Bachelor's Degree is acceptable with appropriate experience

Experience:

  • 8 years of leadership experience in large organization
  • Some experience working with international students and teachers (preferably China, Korea, & Vietnam)

Major Responsibilities and Duties:

1. Coordinating and directing the work of the staff.

2. Act as PDSO for the F1 Student Program

3. Oversee Executive Directors for the J1 Teacher Program and the F1 Student Program

4. Oversee the activities at the Student Apartments

5. Make sure all International Students' health and welfare is top priority

6. Make sure all International Teachers' health and welfare is top priority

7. Oversee International Counseling Program

International Counseling Program:

8. Supervises counseling initiatives that enhance accurate transcript evaluation processes, aligning with institutional and accreditation standards.

9. Oversee counselor's partnership with ILTexas Global, Academic Success Program Counselors, and Charter Student Support Services to promote cohesive and supportive services for international students.

10. Monitor and analyze international student retention and graduation rates, identifying areas for improvement and implementing targeted strategies to address them.

11. Establish metrics for evaluating the success of counseling and support initiatives.

12. Ensure counselors are equipped with the latest knowledge and skills for supporting international students.

13. Ensure compliance with institutional policies and accreditation requirements, maintaining high standards of accuracy and efficiency in all student services.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Supervise two Executive Directors and a staff of 5-6 team members.

Tools/Equipment Used: Standard office equipment including personal computer and peripherals.

Posture: Prolonged sitting; occasional bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, twisting

Motion: Repetitive hand motions; frequent keyboarding and use of mouse; occasional reaching

Lifting: Occasional light lifting and carrying (under 15 pounds)

Environment: May work prolonged or irregular hours

Mental Demands: Work with frequent interruptions; maintain emotional control under stress
