Introduction\nGRADE20 \nLOCATION OF POSITIONMDH, Central Services Division, Baltimore, MD\nMain Purpose of JobThe main purpose of the position is to oversee the day-to-day operations of the\nCentral Services Division. The Deputy Chief directs logistical support to MDH\nagencies throughout the State to ensure that these agencies receive the\nfunctional assistance required to fulfill their respective missions. This support\nrequires interactions with executive leadership at MDH as well as other State\nagencies, private contractors, and private management companies.\n\n\nThis position assists the Chief of the Central Services Division and directs the\nDivision in the absence of the Chief. The incumbent in this position is\nresponsible for providing operational support to all operating MDH facilities,\nleased locations, and closed facilities. Responsibilities for the aforementioned\nfacilities include coordination of contracted and shared services, evaluation and\nsupport for tenant fit-out projects to optimize utilization, managing the relocation\nof offices/personnel, and overseeing maintenance and construction tenant fit-out\nprojects.\n\n\nThis position requires coordinating with contractors, planning for future\ndevelopment, expansion and investigating availability of suitable space. This\nposition requires: expert knowledge and efficiency in employing best business\npractices to ensure that the services and processes supporting the organization\nfunction properly; a high level of professionalism, integrity, and discretion in\nhandling all duties; capability of managing all facilities efficiently, by being well\nversed with project management activities, time management and leadership.\nThis position requires accounting and financial analysis, and comfort working in a\nfast-paced environment that requires excellent communication and interpersonal\nskills in dealing with a multitude of personnel and vendors. This position is also in\ncharge of logistical support for MDH and satellite facilities in the event of a health\nemergency in the State.\n\nMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSQualified candidates must possess a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or universityand six years of experience with facilities maintenance, including three years at a supervisory or managerial level.\n\n\nAdditional experience will substitute year-for-year for the college degree. Master's degree will substitute for one year of general experience and a Doctorate degree will substitute for two years general experience.\nDESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSPreferred candidates should possess the following:\n\n\n\n\n Proficiency with Google Suites and Office 365 Suites; and,\n Experience with FMIS, Rumba, and Inventory Management Systems.\n\n\nSELECTION PROCESSThis is a Management Service position, and serves at the pleasure of the Appointing Authority.
