Title: Deputy Director of Human Resources, People and CultureDepartment: Human Resources Reports to: Director of Human Resources, People and Culture Job Location: 623 Broadway, Lower Level FLSA: Exempt Job Status: Full-Time Availability: M-F, 9 am - 5 pm (flexibility required during nonstandard hours) Positions Supervised: 1 Position Summary The Deputy Director of HR, People and Culture at Greenwich House presents a dynamic opportunity for a strategic HR professional to impact a mission-driven organization significantly. Collaborating closely with the Director of HRP+C, the Deputy will lead a proficient team through the entire employee experience, covering areas such as employee and labor relations, benefits, compensation, DEI initiatives, recruitment, and compliance.The Deputy Director will support the implementation of policies, SOPs, and KPIs for employees across diverse programs. This role will streamline HR functions organization-wide, acting as an additional point of contact for 300+ unionized and non-unionized staff. Together with the Director, the Deputy Director will contribute to fostering an employee-oriented, inclusive, equitable, and high-performance culture. Primary Duties/ResponsibilitiesHR Administration
  • Work closely with the Director on HR program administration.
  • Oversee compensation, benefits, leave, onboarding, off-boarding, employee relations, performance management, and HR compliance.
  • Streamline HR functions using ADP Workforce Now and other broker-driven systems.
Recruitment and Retention
  • Develop effective recruitment and onboarding processes.
  • Attract talented individuals aligned with the organization's mission and culture.
Employee and Labor Relations
  • Work with unionized and non-unionized employees.
  • Build consensus and negotiate with union representatives and employee delegates.
Other Projects and Initiatives
  • Support the development and implementation of priority projects set by the Director.
  • Projects may include strategic planning, budgeting, performance management, evaluations, employee engagement, and recognition.
Required Skills/Abilities
  • Proven success in a Human Resources leadership role in similar-sized organizations.
  • Ability to partner with diverse individuals across all organizational levels.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational competencies, including priority setting, meeting deadlines, and managing multiple projects.
  • Team-building, supervisory, and leadership experience.
  • Passion for problem-solving and data-driven approaches.
  • Experience working with unionized and non-unionized staff; thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.
Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree; Master's degree preferred.
  • At least four years of human resource management experience.
  • SPHR or SHRM-SCP preferred.
  • Experience with ADP Workforce Now preferred.
