POSITION: Deputy Director of Kansas Foster Care
DEPARTMENT: Kansas Foster Care (Kansas City, KS and Leavenworth, KS)
Starting Salary: $105,000- $122,000 (Annually)
(Starting salary depends on education and experience)
RESPONSIBILITIES: The Deputy Director of Kansas Foster Care serves as a senior leader for Cornerstones of Care's portfolio of foster care services and supports in Area 5 of Kansas (Atchison, Leavenworth, and Wyandotte counties). This can be inclusive of client support, placement stability, child placing, clinical services, permanency case management efforts, etc. The Deputy is responsible for providing strategic and operational leadership ensuring optimal outcomes and performance. The Deputy will co-lead teams to achieve the highest of program quality & financial health, while ensuring all team members strive to deliver services that lead to long term positive impact on the safety and health of communities. The Deputy will work collaboratively with another Deputy, as well as peers and leaders within other departments of the organization to ensure positive interface in support of the organization's mission and priorities, specifically in aligning resources necessary to accomplish goals. The Deputy will demonstrate a deep knowledge of Kansas communities' needs and have strong meaningful relationships with leaders at other public and private organizations, system partners, and community leaders. Key to the Deputy's success will be the ability to lead through Directors & Supervisors by coaching, inspiring and motivating those leaders.
QUALIFICATIONS: This position requires an advanced/master's degree from an accredited university in social work or related field, which includes the following: community counseling, human development, child and family development, applied family and youth studies, public health, health sciences, trauma studies, sociology/social services, substance use, education/early Childhood, law/JD, or psychology. This position also requires seven (7) years of progressive experience in a public or private child welfare, supported grant/contract work in child welfare, demonstrated professional experience as part of diverse teams, successful experience in policy and practice development, experience making complex decisions in child welfare, experience with change initiatives. Must be at least 21 years of age and pass background check, physical and drug screening. This position also requires a valid driver's license, proof of current vehicle insurance and reliable transportation.
