Job Description
Under the direction of the Operations Administrator and with wide latitude for independent initiative, judgment and decision making, the Deputy Director is responsible for overseeing the skilled trades operations.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
1. Supervise skilled trade administrators.
2. Monitor skilled trade productivity.
3. Oversee the borough Planning and Scheduling Unit.
4. Coordinate work requests and monitor appointments.
5. Conduct surveys of properties to ensure delivery of essential services in conformance with NYCHA procedures.
6. Draft scope of work for mini contracts utilizing small procurements.
7. Attend contract meetings.
8. Monitor the use of requirement contracts and Job order contracts. Conduct pre-start meetings.
9. Coordinate inspections by insurance companies and other agencies.
10. Track and conduct quality control inspections.
11. Assist in PHAS preparation and inspection.
12. Conduct field visits.
NOTE: A Driver's license valid in the state of New York is required for this position.

1. Due to the existence of a civil service list, candidates must have permanent civil service status in the title of Administrative Housing Superintendent to apply.

Qualifications
1. A four year high school diploma or its educational equivalent, plus eight years of supervisory experience in the operation, repair and maintenance of large tenanted buildings; four years of which must have been in responsible charge of properties
having not less than seven maintenance and operations employees and at least 18 months of which must have been in an administrative capacity; or
2. Education and/or experience which is equivalent to 1 above. However, all candidates must have at least four years of experience in responsible charge of properties having not less than seven maintenance and operations employees, at least 18 months of which must have in an administrative capacity.
