Every year, Sanctuary empowers thousands of adults and children to move from fear and abuse to safety and stability, transforming lives through a comprehensive range of services. We provide a range of wrap-around services to help survivors rebuild their lives in the aftermath of abuse, and work to end gender violence through three key strategies: direct services, outreach and training, and systems-change advocacy. Our services are available in 12 locations throughout New York City.POSITION OVERVIEWThe Deputy Director, Strategic Systems reports to the Senior Director, Strategic Systems. The Strategic Systems team works to enable Sanctuary's mission through strategic and effective use and governance of technology. The Deputy Director, Strategic Systems plays an important role in the design, implementation, and modification of the agency's enterprise systems. They will oversee program reporting, evaluation and impact measurement efforts, including necessary collaboration with program staff. The Deputy Director, Strategic Systems also supports the broader use and enhancement of all enterprise applications, including creation or implementation of related policies. A successful candidate will be mission-driven and will bring their unique background and experience to the work of enabling better service delivery through data and systems. RESPONSIBILITIESManagement Responsibilities
  • Supervises several members of the Strategic System Team.
Application Support
  • Manage the enhancement of Sanctuary's enterprise applications, particularly its Salesforce-based Client Tracking System but also other systems as necessary, working closely with program and non-program staff to identify needs and optimize application functionality.
  • Coordinate with vendors, consultants, and internal teams to resolve issues and implement upgrades aligned with programmatic needs.
  • Manage the administration and support of enterprise systems, particularly Salesforce, including setting standards for usage, developing/maintaining materials and guides, and overseeing data quality control measures.
  • Manages relationship with a Salesforce developer to further more complex projects.
Program Reporting, Evaluation & Impact measurement
  • Oversee reporting out of Salesforce and other enterprise applications, including setting standards for usage and overseeing quality measures.
  • Complete programmatic reporting and analysis needs for all of Sanctuary's government and foundation reporting. Design data reports for funding solicitations and other ad hoc purposes.
  • Oversee implementation of Sanctuary's impact agenda including but not limited to building/maintaining feedback tools, outcome metrics, and other evaluation mechanisms.
Systems Project Management
  • Oversee project management and implementation of assigned technology projects, ensuring alignment with programmatic direction and organizational priorities.
Collaboration with Program Staff
  • Work closely with program staff to understand mission-critical needs and integrate technology solutions into program workflows effectively.
  • Participate in strategic planning sessions to identify technology opportunities that enhance program outcomes and efficiency.
  • Support program teams in their contract compliance and performance efforts.
  • Participate in the decision-making process for Requests for Proposals and similar processes to drive informed decision-making.
Training
  • Help define and support training needed for effective systems implementation and usage.
Other
  • Serves as back-up for Senior Director of Strategic Systems in their interactions.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned by the position's supervisor.
Requirements
  • Must love data!
  • Bachelor's degree strongly preferred or related coursework/professional training in enterprise systems/reporting, program evaluation, performance management and statistical analysis.
  • Minimum of six years related experience.
  • 4 years of Salesforce architecture and administration experience preferred but related experience with enterprise level data systems will be considered.
  • Prior supervisory experience preferred.
  • Exemplary computer skills, specifically in MS Excel.
  • Demonstrated ability to train others (of various levels of expertise).
  • Strong critical/analytical thinking ability.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and verbal/written communication skills.
  • Ability to identify and implement process and policy improvements.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage simultaneous projects, while balancing diverse stakeholders' needs.
  • Understanding of principles of reporting for internal and external purposes, including for agency management, board, regulatory agencies, and funders
