Job DescriptionHill International is seeking a Deputy Outreach Manager in the Bronx/Brooklyn or Queens/Manhattan, New YorkResponsibilities
  • Support the Outreach Program Manager in the development and execution of community engagement and outreach strategies on multiple concurrent design-build projects.
  • Coordinate with cross-disciplinary teams including architects, landscape architects, engineers, construction managers and contractors to anticipate upcoming coordination & communication needs, identify potential obstacles and challenges, and proactively address community impacts and concerns.
  • Plan, coordinate, and execute public engagement events including large public workshops, stakeholder meetings, briefings with elected officials, Community Board meetings, and other events as needed.
  • Work efficiently in a high-pressure environment and prioritize competing tasks to ensure smooth workflows and meet project deadlines.
  • Schedule and coordinate internal and external meetings, prepare and issue agendas and meeting minutes, and follow up on critical action items.
  • Develop high-quality, clear, and informative presentations, graphics, fact sheets, reports, and documents for internal and external communications.
  • Write and present formal and technical reports, working papers, and correspondences.
  • Write, design, and format public communications, including emails, letters, reports, and documents.
  • Oversee Community Construction Liaison (CCLs) activities, including:
    • Visit project construction sites and surrounding neighborhoods in Brooklyn and the Bronx on a regular basis.
    • Coordinate with CCLs to correspond with community members and other stakeholders both over email and in-person.
    • Coordinate with CCLs to conduct day-to-day outreach to residents, business owners, and stakeholders.
    • Ensure timely and accurate data entry & reporting.
    • Oversee publication of community advisories, construction bulletins, environmental reports, and other public-facing communications
    • Assist with updates and maintenance of internal project SharePoint site and external project website.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or higher or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education in urban planning, architecture, landscape architecture, structural engineering, environmental engineering, construction management, or other related fields.
  • At least five (5) years of experience in public engagement, community outreach, public speaking, and event planning.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Suite applications.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent time management and prioritization skills and high attention to detail.
  • Ability to work and communicate proactively and as part of a diverse team.
  • Availability to work during evening and weekend hours as needed to attend public events or to address time-sensitive issues.
  • Ability to travel to multiple locations in Brooklyn and the Bronx and work from central andfield offices.
  • Ability to maintain a confident and respectful professional communication style in high pressuresettings
  • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel) preferred
  • Positive attitude and excellent leadership and team building skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Fluency in Spanish a plus
The salary range for this position is $105,000-$144,400.
