Overview Manages the design and implementation of construction and remodeling projects on time, on budget, and with a safe and high quality outcome. Responsibilities
Sets up and directs design meetings with department representatives to determine scope, budget, schedule, design, and equipment needs for proposed construction projects. Supervises all aspects of construction projects from design planning phase through final inspection and delivering projects on time, on budget and with a high quality end product.(e.g. outside architect selection and management, contractor management, maintenance of schedules, budgets, quality metrics, work site inspections, project progress reporting) Acts as a liaison to the Engineering and Facilities Departments in the identification and management of compliance with Infection Control, Interim Life Safety, NFPA and other building regulations and requirements. Uses data from internal and external resources to inform project cost estimates and schedules. Partners in the development, administration and management of quality control for design and construction of projects. Supports the Director with the development of short and long range planning goals for the department and assignment of priorities for design and construction projects. Works with internal and external resources, local and state officials to facilitate the building permitting review and approval process. Establishes and maintains records, such as drawings, authorizations, submittals, operating and maintenance manuals and other documents for internal support and for regulatory agency requirements. Performs other duties as required or assigned. Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, or Construction Management with 5 years of project planning or construction experience, or an equivalent combination of education or experience required.
- Advanced Project Management experience required.
- In-depth understanding of the construction industry required.
- Strong written and verbal interpersonal skills required.
- Ability to influence various levels of leadership and external constituents such as local coding authorities.
- Experience working with local municipalities and state agencies for building/zoning.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and manage project teams.
- Ability to lead problem resolutions and independently identify risk areas with ability to implement mitigation plans.
- Demonstrated proficiency in word processing, spreadsheet software, database management, PDF viewers and data entry required.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organizational skills that reflect ability to perform and prioritize multiple tasks with excellent attention to detail.
- Thorough understanding of budgeting, job cost reporting, billing and payable procedures.
- Ability to work across or manage diverse cultural norms.
- Previous healthcare project experience preferred.
- Demonstrated commitment to sustainability.
- Strong schedule management skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to travel 50% of time within 50-mile radius.
