JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:Penn State's Office of Physical Plant is seeking to fill a Design and Construction Project Manager position who will be responsible for the leadership, development, management, and coordination of multiple design and construction projects - from inception through closeout - relating to repairs, alterations, and renovations at the University Park campus. This position will work with both internal and external design and construction resources to ensure projects are completed on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with the University's quality and safety standards.Primary duties include, but are not limited to:establishing and managing project scopes, schedules, and budgetsproviding updates and reports to customers and leadershiphiring design professionals and procuring construction servicesleading project teams so that projects meet the requirements of the contract documents, the University's design and construction standards, and customer needs and expectationsserve as the customer advocate and the point-of-contact for the University for each projectExcellent verbal and written interpersonal skills are required for regular stakeholder communication. This position will report to a senior Project Manager, together serving a group of university customers. This team will work largely independently from each other, with this team member typically leading less-complex projects with smaller budgets.Education and experience:Minimally requires a bachelor's degree or higher and one year of experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. A degree in Architecture, Architectural or Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related discipline is preferred.Background check:This position requires that you operate a motor vehicle as part of your job duties. A valid driver's license and successful completion of a motor vehicle records check will be required in addition to standard background checks.
