Who We Are:

We are a Los Angeles based Fashion Company specializing in Women's, Juniors, and girls' apparel. We service multi-channels of distribution in retail partnerships with department stores and specialty chains throughout the country.

Job Summary:

The Design Assistant is responsible for helping their division's Senior Designer and team with clerical tasks and assisting in creating a line for the monthly market. The Design Assistant maintains a high degree of confidentiality and discretion in regarding to all matters.

  • Help Designers to look for any specific fabric (patterns & samples)
  • Order fabrics from different vendors and create POs in A200s
  • Organize clothing samples and fabrics
  • Send out fabrics to be scanned for 3D and make cone pictures
  • Responsible for handing off complete garment information to the costing team
  • Provide Trims as needed
  • Preparing samples to be sent out
  • Requests pattern card updates from patternmakers
  • Prints styles to cut and test prints with sublimation machine and printing blocks
  • Responsible for maintaining cutting ticket books
  • Print face cards as needed
  • File cutting tickets in the basement aftermarket we need them available to locate styles
  • Responsible for maintaining line sheet
  • Photographing and tagging new samples, keeping record of new styles in folders
  • Scan screens in the system, all screens must be scanned and named accordingly in the matrix folder.
  • Request CADs, prints, and sketches from CAD Artists
  • Provides due dates and fabric swatch reference
  • Prepare and complete Tech Packs
  • Follow up with vendors and dye house daily
  • Coordinating mail and courier requests
  • Organizing and filing

QUALIFICATIONS:

Degree in Fashion Design or equivalent experience preferred

Must be familiar with garment construction

Knowledge of Tech Packs

Knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft PowerPoint, and Microsoft Excel

Ability to listen and incorporate ideas into new design or product

Ability to follow through on multiple tasks simultaneously

Ability to work in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment

Ability to work under tight deadlines while managing multiple priorities

Must have excellent time management and organizational skills

Detail Oriented

Ability to problem solve and communicate any issues to the team

Education:

  • Bachelor's (Preferred)

Experience:

  • Garment construction: 2 years (Preferred)
  • Fashion design: 2 years (Preferred)
  • Adobe Illustrator: 2 years (Preferred)
