Who Our Client IsA leading residential developer with a new golf course community in the Palm Beach area which includes an incredible golf course and amenities along with a series of custom home estates that offer modern architecture and high-end design that aligns beautifully with the community lifestyle.What They NeedOur client is seeking a Design Center Manager who works behind the scenes to help homebuyers complete their home selections. In addition to managing the design staff and coordinators at our in-house Design Center, this role is responsible for establishing policies and procedures, creating new product offerings and overseeing the selections and maintaining involvement with the construction and design of new homes. What You'll Do
  • Understand and manage the design center operation and selections.
  • Manage design center consultant / assistant and organize responsibilities.
  • Manage customer inquiries, schedule appointments and consultations.
  • Prepare and put together color presentations to match customer budgets.
  • Follow guidelines for color appointments, translate customer appointments into color sheets for customers sign offs.
  • Successfully communicate management decisions to customers.
  • Demonstrate strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Schedule and complete all the trade partner appointments and ensure that the color sheets are 100% complete before sending it across to the architectural team.
  • Review drawings to ensure that the customer selections are captured in the drawings for home construction.
  • Assist Construction team for Customer Change orders as necessary for homes under construction.
  • Assist in company goals to increase option sales.
  • Assist Chief Design Officer to revamp option program to increase gross margins.
  • Project database set up and management: Assist in establishment of systems for project management for current and future homes.
  • Establish automation for design studio.
  • Maintain customer selection database and pricing for customer sign offs.
  • Check pricing and manage GC trade partner purchasing agents.
  • Keep design center selections up to date with discontinued options.
  • Handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines to keep home construction moving forward.
What You'll Need
  • Bachelor's degree in architecture, interior design, or equivalent combination of technical training and/or related experience.
  • 5-plus years of work experience in a high-end production or custom homebuilder environment.
  • Proven track record of successfully coordinating color selections.
  • Proven experience managing selections in a design center.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple priorities.
  • Expertise in Excel. Familiarity with relevant project management software and tools is a plus.
  • Basic understanding of construction, pricing and specifications for high end homebuilding.
  • Ability to read and understand construction plans, blueprints and documents related to new home construction.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
