Job Description:
We are currently seeking a Design Engineer to join our product engineering team. As a Design Engineer, you are a problem-solver and a skilled leader. In addition to producing specifications and designs, you will develop, troubleshoot, and train various personnel on new ideas and designs. You must be a technically minded person with strong communication skills. The ability to focus on the task at hand, follow-through on a prescribed plan, and be flexible while thinking under pressure are all key to this role. We are seeking a highly motivated individual who has a strong desire to learn and a team player attitude. The ideal candidate has experience with AutoCAD and/or Inventor, or similar engineering design tools.Responsibilities:Work with the customer to understand their needs for a modified stock order.Creation of 3D models, technical drawings, and instruction sheets using engineering design software.Prepare and process engineering change orders.Lead the design and development of new products.Help drive process improvement and product sustainment.Provide technical support to customer service, purchasing, sales, distributors, and customers.Minimal travel may be required.Work is primarily in an office environment with access to manufacturing.What will help you thrive in this role?Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent technical degree.2 to 5 years of experience in an engineering or manufacturing environment.Experience with 3D modeling and CAD (Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD preferred but not required).High level of PC proficiency, including Microsoft Office suite.Experience with DFMA, Lean, and DFSS would be a plus.Experience with SAP Enterprise is a plus.Hubbell IncorporatedHubbell creates critical infrastructure solutions that power our customers, communities, people and the planet.
