Must-haves:

• BS in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering or AS degree and work experience in lieu of degree
• 2+ years of experience preferably in off-road, construction, or material handling application with a focus on wire harness design.
• Experience with 3D routing wire harnesses
• Familiarity with one of the following wire harness tools: Catia, Pro-E/Creo Cabling, Solidworks, Unigraphics NX, Arcadia Harness
• Experience with Zuken, Capital Harness, Orcad, Vesys, Creo Schematic, Altium, Cadence, Arcadia schematic, Bentley Substation and Mentor Graphics

Day-to-day:

Insight Global is looking for a Design Engineer for one of our largest material handling clients in Columbus, IN. This position will be responsible for developing wire harness designs and routing with an emphasis on the mechanical requirements needed to produce a robust product. 80% of the day will be spent creating and routing 2D and 3D models of wire harnesses for prototype and production stages. They will also confirm and support wire harness parts and routing at prototype stage to ensure design and functionality is met. They will interface with Electrical Component and Frame design engineers to confirm and modify wire designs and connection points to meet both internal and external customer requirements.
