Design Engineer - $60k - $64k/year

ENTRY LEVEL - DECEMBER NEW GRADS WELCOME!

Aegis Worldwide is actively seeking a talented Design Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing custom solutions for industrial vehicles, including planning, modeling, and documenting new components and systems tailored to specific industry needs. You'll work hands-on with electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems to ensure the successful integration and functionality of these designs on our on-site production vehicles. Additionally, you will collaborate with internal customers and take full ownership of designs for both internal combustion and battery/electric vehicles.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Utilize CAD/FEA and other software for cost-effective, manufacturable, and reliable design development.
  • Prepare and analyze technical data and documentation.
  • Mentor and support other team members as needed.
  • Maintain drawings, engineering change instructions, and specification changes.
  • Act as a liaison with various departments, suppliers, and customers to address design-related issues.
  • Participate in company and departmental Hoshin and Kaizen activities.
  • Analyze and resolve design problems, conducting testing to improve component reliability.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Proficiency in CAD software (CATIA/SolidWorks) and FEA.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Innovative mindset to envision new design approaches.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Hands-on experience with small hand tools for diagnosing and resolving design issues.
  • Experience with electrical and hydraulic systems on industrial vehicles is a plus.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or mechanical engineering technology (or equivalent).
  • Experience in 2D & 3D modeling.
  • Recent graduates with internship experience or engineers with 1-2 years of relevant experience are encouraged to apply.
