Drawing upon our strategic facilities spanning Scotland and the USA, you will leverage Hydro Group's unique positioning to effectively cater to clients worldwide, with a particular focus on the oil and gas, marine renewable energy, and defense sectors.Specific Position Duties
- Provide End-to-End Technical Solutions: Take ownership of technical and engineering solutions, overseeing projects from initial concept through to manufacturing phase, ensuring alignment with client requirements and industry standards.
- Technical Support for Sales and Customer Relations: Collaborate closely with the Sales team and customers to provide technical support, address inquiries, and offer expertise on product specifications, capabilities, and feasibility.
- Define and Optimize Assembly Processes: Define assembly processes and meticulously generate detailed assembly instructions to streamline production efficiency and ensure product quality.
- Review and Enhance Manufacturing Processes: Conduct comprehensive reviews of pre-production and existing manufacturing processes, identifying areas for enhancement, efficiency improvement, and cost optimization.
- Assess Design & Test Requirements: Analyze sales inquiries to identify design and testing requirements, as well as potential manufacturability issues, proactively addressing challenges to ensure seamless project execution.
- Design and Develop New Products: Spearhead the design and development of new products, leveraging innovative solutions and industry best practices to meet evolving market demands and client expectations.
- Creation of Detailed Drawings: Generate accurate and comprehensive technical drawings to communicate design specifications, dimensions, and tolerances effectively.
- Documentation for Verification and Validation: Develop verification and validation documentation to support the design process, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and client specifications.
- Create Build and Test Procedures: Develop clear and concise procedure and process documentation for product assembly, testing, and quality assurance, facilitating consistent execution and adherence to standards.
- Lead First Article Build Process: Take the lead in coordinating and overseeing the first article build process, ensuring adherence to design specifications, quality standards, and project timelines.
- Problem Solving and Continuous Improvement: Proactively identify and address technical challenges, implementing solutions and process improvements to enhance product quality, efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
- Ensure Regulatory Compliance: Ensure that all processes and equipment comply with relevant safety, environmental, and legal regulations, upholding the highest standards of compliance and ethical conduct.
- Staff Training and Development: Provide training and support to staff members as needed, ensuring proficiency in processes, procedures, and safety protocols, fostering a culture of continual learning and development.
- Adherence to Health & Safety Regulations: Strictly adhere to all relevant health and safety regulations, promoting a safe and secure work environment for all team members.
- Drive Continual Improvement Initiatives: Champion a culture of continual improvement, actively seeking feedback, implementing best practices, and driving initiatives to enhance operational efficiency, product quality, and customer satisfaction.
Minimum QualificationsEducation: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field; advanced degree preferred, but not essential if relevant qualifications and experience are available.Experience: Seven (7) to twelve (12) years of experience design and manufacturing/build is essential.Knowledge: Understanding of NAVSEA S9320-AM-PRO-020/MLDG technical manual, Mil-Specs M24231 M24217 and associated Through Hull PenetratorsSkills: Excellent communication skills and effective team player. Autodesk Inventor and analytical software tools. Computer literate with Microsoft Office. Familiar with Health and Safety standards.
