Job Description:

Position: Product Engineer/Design Release Engineer

Location: Dearborn, Michigan – 5 days a week onsite

Duration: 20 month contract

Travel: 10% travel – various US locations/Mexico – includes overnight stay occasionally

Pay Rate: $40-50/hr

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electronics or Mechatronics Engineering
  • 5+ years of experience working as a Design & Release Engineer

Day to Day:

Insight Global is looking for a Design and Release Engineer in the Dearborn, Michigan area. The DRE is going to be responsible for the design and release of restraints components and systems for the new and current vehicles.

Other Responsibilities Include:

- Managing project timing

-Releasing drawing and engineering specifications

- Creating specific Failure Mode Analysis Documents, Design Verification Plan & Report, and quality documents

- Part delivery on time for each program milestone

- Tracking of supplier's deliverables.

- Design, develop, validate, and release automotive systems, subsystems, and components for the assigned programs

- Monitor the development of interior trim for Ford Vehicles according to company specific benchmarks

- Design parts to comply with corporate and local requirements for parts validation, considering Worldwide Customer Requirement, Engineering specifications, and System Design Specifications as well as the Manufacturing and Assembly requirements

- Translate customer, regulatory, and product requirements into engineering targets

- Monitor supplier and analyze customer feedback through Company's systems (WERS, FEDE, GPDS, Catia).

- Responsible for incorporating new designs and engineering changes at the assembly plant and leading discussions with involved parties including suppliers

- Support suppliers and assembly departments with current production quality and manufacturing issues

- Support production part approval processes (PPAP) for mass production

Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.
