SUMMARY Reviews customer project requirements and identifies the appropriate Pelican product to meet the customer's needs. Performs diversified computer aided design and drafting duties working from sketches, concepts, to prepare assembly and detail drawings including Bill of Materials. PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Works from a variety of specific project assignments requiring independent work and/or specific elements of difficult projects to assist Engineers in designing and drawing custom designs and products.
- Receives and discusses projects with assigned Engineer. Measures customer equipment with basicmeasurement devices. Works from rough customer and/or internal sketches, verbal descriptions. Generates CAD drawings with details as appropriate. Reviews and verifies detail with the Project Engineer; makes modifications and changes based upon detail review.
- Develops designs based on input from external customers from both customer-supplied models and/orcustomer-supplied written specifications.
- Develops Bill of Materials for customer specific applications.
- Designs and details unique components for purchase and custom-made components for procurementinternally and/or externally.
- Discusses with Project Engineer and customer as appropriate and incorporates agreed to changes into the final products overall design and detail items.
- Discusses with Purchasing, Production and Manufacturing Engineering any unique components with internal and external sources such as mold maker to ensure the fabrication process continues in efficient manner. Works with external vendors to ensure unique components are purchased and/or custom made as needed.
- Works with Production personnel as needed to ensure internal process control and meeting of customerrequirements.
- Follows company policies and practices as outlined in the Employee Handbook and/or applicable employment agreement. Follows safety guidelines and procedures in accordance to the job.
- Performs additional duties as assigned.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Associates degree, Technical Certificate or equivalent experience.
- 3-4 years' design and drafting experience; minimum of 1 year of Detail Drafter
- Working knowledge of CAD modeling and Drafting Principles.
- Working knowledge of MRP system.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Solid Edge and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing knowledge.
- Working knowledge of SAP MRP system.

- Must be flexible regarding working hours and overtime. Must be able to work overtime on evenings andweekends, with or without advanced notice.
- Must be able to operate in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
- Must be able to travel, nationally and internationally, as necessary.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING CONDITIONS
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be occasionally required to execute standardphysical activities within the facility areas (i.e. stand, walk, sit, use hands/fingers).
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be occasionally required to execute non-standard physical activities within the facility areas (i.e. climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch).
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
- This position requires repetitive hand/wrist activities.
