Job Type Full-time Description Galison is looking for a creative and passionate graphic designer to join the Galison design team, developing our range of jigsaw puzzles, gifts, stationery, accessories, and creativity kits. In this dynamic role, you will work on a diverse range of products, ensuring that every day is creatively stimulating. Reporting to the Art Director, you will play a crucial role in ensuring our product collections are distinctive, appealing, and profitable in the marketplace. Employees at Galison follow a flexible hybrid schedule of working a minimum of 3 days per week in our NYC office, depending on project and business needs. Who We Are: Galison creates puzzles and distinctive gift products that surprise and delight. We collaborate with independent and established artists to bring art into the everyday. Responsibilities:
- Lead product design projects as assigned by the Art Director, utilizing in-house, commissioned, and licensed artwork.
- Assist in trend research and conceptualization of seasonal product stories and new formats.
- Manage commissions from contract requests, art direction, final hi-res delivery, and implementation into final product designs. Develop original artwork when appropriate to business goals.
- Manage and assist in the print production of all projects from file release through approval of production proofs and prototypes.
- Manage and assist in needs for pre-launch/launch events including presentation decks, mockups, and digital images.
- Accountability to the Creative Director, the Executive Director of Sales, and the Director of Sales & Sales Operations to ensure that business objectives, timelines, and budget goals are achieved.

Hiring Salary Range: $60,000-$75,000 per year. This range represents the anticipated low and high end of the expected salary for this position and will be determined by factors including but not limited to an applicant's education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, and geographic location as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. This position is also eligible for our profit share plan. - 4-6 years of professional graphic design experience, preferably with some consumer product design experience in paper & gift product categories.
- Positive attitude and self-motivation, with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
- Transparent communication style to ensure success within the design team and across departments.
- Ability to balance high aesthetic values with merchandising goals.
- Strong typographic and compositional skills.
- Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
- Highly proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (Indesign, Illustrator, Photoshop)
- BFA in Graphic Design or equivalent
- Experience with photo styling, illustration, or writing/editorial skills a plus
