**POSITION DETAILS**

Hunter College seeks a dynamic and inventive Instructional Designer & Media Specialist. The HunterCenter for Online Learning supportsour faculty as they create and implement effective and engaging online learning solutions.Equipped with a model classroom, twoone-button recording studios, and several collaboration stations, the Center is designed to optimize the creation and teaching of hybrid, HyFlex and online courses. TheInstructional Designer & Media Specialist reports to the Director of theCenter for Online Learning.

The Instructional Designer & Media Specialist will help the Center to expand educational technology services to meet the needs of Hunter College students as they navigate the culturally rich and diverse landscape of New York City. Instructional Designer & Media Consultant will include:

Assisting faculty and departments with the design and implementation ofundergraduate hybrid, HyFlex, and online coursesand programs while recommending best practices for flexibility and accessibility of course material.

Supporting faculty and departments with use of apps, videos, augmented reality/virtual reality tools, and generative AI platforms in the classroom and leading the assessment of the use of these tools.

Introducing new technologies and pedagogies and ensuring consistency and efficiency in course design and technology adoption.

Providing course quality reviews for best instructional practices and accessibility.

Developing new training opportunities to faculty and researching current trends in online learning.

Representing Hunter College at CUNY-wide and other regional conferences on teaching and learning by presenting on Hunter College initiatives and lessons learned.

+ Perform other related duties and tasks as assigned.

**QUALIFICATIONS**

Bachelor's Degree and four years' relevant experience required.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Masters degree in Instructional Design or Educational Technology. At least 5 years of experience supporting

instructional design of undergraduate or graduate hybrid, HyFlex, and online courses.

**CUNY TITLE OVERVIEW**

Supports and consults with faculty, students, and others in the use of instructional systems, software, and programs.

- Provides day-to-day support for users of instructional systems

- May supervise a College help desk related to academic technology, supervising and training staff

- Designs, develops, and delivers training and orientation sessions on the use of instructional technologies

- May serve as an administrator and/or account coordinator for one or more systems

- Assists in demonstrating the practical application of computers and communications technology for classes and workshops for faculty or students

- May track problem reports, troubleshoot reported issues, and document resolutions

- Performs related duties as assigned.

Salary commensurate with education and experience, within approved salary range $72,667-$79,188.
