Womenswear Designer with a strong passion for fashion trends and market dynamics. The ideal candidate will have proven experience in apparel design, with the ability to balance creative innovation and market demands. This role requires excellent organizational skills, a collaborative mindset, and proficiency in managing multiple aspects of the design process from concept to execution.
Key Responsibilities: - Collaborate with the Design Team to conduct thorough research on trends, market insights, and competitive analysis within the Women's and Junior fashion markets.
- Establish and maintain an organized fabric and trim library, ensuring accessibility for the team.
- Refine and update sketches, line sheets, and design materials to meet objectives and maintain brand standards.
- Lead fabric and trim research, managing communications with overseas vendors to ensure effective sourcing.
- Track and manage sample request charts, ensuring accurate shipping and on-time delivery.
- Edit and refine prints as needed to align with design goals.
- Prepare and organize all elements for presentations, ensuring high attention to detail and aesthetic quality.
- Demonstrate a sense of urgency while managing multiple deadlines and workloads effectively.
- Create and update design charts and developmental tools relevant to the department.
- Manage inventory and procurement of design supplies, including Pantone and CSI materials.
- Maintain a strong focus on trend imagery, research, and color forecasting aligned with brand objectives.
- Actively follow and interpret trends in the Women's and Junior markets to inform and guide design decisions.
- Collaborate with overseas teams on product development, prototypes, and sample creation.
- Coordinate the ordering and returning of samples as needed.
Skills and Qualifications: - 4+ years of experience in apparel design, with a strong portfolio demonstrating expertise in womenswear.
- Innovative thinker with a problem-solving mindset and strong creative vision.
- Exceptional attention to detail and ability to meet tight deadlines without compromising quality.
- Highly organized and methodical in managing tasks and projects.
- Advanced proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop; familiarity with other design tools is a plus.
- Ability to work independently and make decisions without constant supervision.
- Positive and resilient attitude, maintaining professionalism under pressure.
- Strong understanding of trend research, color forecasting, and market demands.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, particularly in working with overseas vendors and cross-functional teams.
- Willingness to adapt to new technologies and approaches to enhance the design process.
Compensation/Benefits: - The approximate annual base salary range for this position is $90,000.00 - $100,000.00, which can vary based on role requirements, skill set, and years of experience.
