Position Overview The Technology team at SFM is seeking a Desktop Engineer to lead and optimize end-user computing environments. This role is critical in ensuring seamless desktop experiences through effective system management, automation, and the latest technology deployment. The ideal candidate will be well-versed in modern desktop management technologies, automation tools, and enterprise-level support. Major Responsibilities
- Lead the deployment and maintenance of Windows 11 across all corporate desktops and laptops.
- Administer and optimize PDQ Deploy and PDQ Inventory for software deployment and patch management.
- Automate repetitive desktop management tasks using PowerShell or equivalent tools.
- Develop and maintain Group Policies, Intune policies, and other desktop configurations.
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve hardware, software, and networking issues related to end-user devices.
- Partner with the Security team to implement and maintain endpoint protection solutions.
- Manage asset lifecycle, including procurement, deployment, and retirement of hardware.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement desktop engineering projects and initiatives.
- Document processes, solutions, and system configurations to maintain operational standards.
Requirements
- 3-5 years of experience in desktop engineering or equivalent roles.
- Strong expertise in Windows 11 deployment and lifecycle management.
- Proficiency in using PDQ Deploy and PDQ Inventory.
- Experience with scripting and automation, particularly using PowerShell.
- Familiarity with endpoint management solutions such as Microsoft Intune, SCCM and PDQ.
- Knowledge of Active Directory and Group Policy.
- Understanding of modern endpoint security tools and practices.
- Exceptional problem-solving and communication skills, with a strong focus on user satisfaction.
What We Offer
- We anticipate the base salary of this role to be between $150,000-175,000. In addition to a base salary, the successful candidate will also be eligible to receive a discretionary year-end bonus.
