Desktop and Network Cabling Job Responsibilities:Desktop Support:- Provide technical support and troubleshooting for desktop hardware and software issues.
- Install, configure, and maintain desktop operating systems and applications.
- Set up and maintain user accounts and permissions.
- Respond to user inquiries and provide timely resolutions to technical issues.
- Collaborate with other IT teams to resolve complex technical problems.
- Conduct regular maintenance and updates to ensure optimal performance of desktop systems.
- Assist with the procurement and inventory management of desktop equipment and software.
- Document and maintain accurate records of support activities and resolutions.
Key Responsibilities for Desktop Support Engineer:- Diagnose and troubleshoot hardware and software issues on desktop systems.
- Install, configure, and upgrade operating systems and software applications.
- Collaborate with users to identify and resolve technical problems.
- Provide training and guidance to users on the proper use of desktop systems.
- Assist in the implementation of IT projects and initiatives.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest technology trends and advancements.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures related to desktop systems.
- Continuously improve desktop support processes and procedures.
Cable Technician Duties and Responsibilities:- Install, maintain, and repair cable TV and internet systems.
- Pull, route, or label CAT6 or CAT6E cables for network systems.
- Install support structures, including cable racks, J-hooks, innerduct, and other related structures.
- Conduct thorough inspections of cable lines to ensure the system is functioning correctly.
- Test and troubleshoot issues with network communication.
- Perform required repairs and upgrades to network cabling systems.
- Maintain accurate documentation of cable installations and network configurations.
Qualifications and Skills:- 1+ years of professional technician experience preferred, especially in cable installation and desktop support.
- Familiarity with industry tools and equipment used for cabling and desktop support.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to work at tall heights and lift 50+ pounds.
- Strong knowledge of desktop operating systems (Windows, macOS) and software applications.
- Familiarity with hardware components and troubleshooting techniques.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field preferred.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified Desktop Support Technician) are a plus.
