The team operates in global model with members in Americas, UK and APAC. Role Description Instinet is seeking a qualified candidate to join the Desktop Services sub-group of our Global Digital Workspace team on a contract basis. This position offers the opportunity to work in a challenging environment focused on deploying and supporting technology solutions, via Jira Service Desk, telephone and in person visits, for the firm's corporate desktop environment, including our trade desk and US regional offices. Role Responsibilities
  • Operate in a teamwork environment as a contributor or project owner
  • Respond to customer requests and trouble calls through ticketing system, email, phone and in-person in a timely manner and with excellent customer service
  • Balance a mixed workload of support tasks and project responsibilities
  • Complete moves, adds and changes involving desktop hardware
  • Adhere to team procedures and firm policy in the process of supporting customers and completing responsibilities
  • Participate in meetings, email, and conversation to keep customers and peers up to date
  • Perform administrative tasks as required by group policies and procedures
  • Operate in teamwork environment with internal and external customers
  • Occasional travel to Instinet's US regional offices
  • Occasional overtime as necessary to meet project requirements or team shift coverage
  • Additional responsibilities as instructed
Key Objectives Critical to Success 3+ years experience in Windows desktop support with strong skills in each of the following areas:
  • Deploying and supporting Windows 10/11 desktop systems, including troubleshooting a wide range of issues
  • Installing, configuring and troubleshooting applications in a Windows desktop environment
  • Understanding of Active Directory fundamentals including user and computer account management
  • Using an enterprise management platform, such as Microsoft SCCM, to deploy software and operating system images
  • Installing and configuring desktop PC equipment and peripherals (e.g. hard drives, memory, video cards, etc.)
  • Understanding of client/server application fundamentals
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to listen actively
  • Strong attention to detail and quality
  • Able to learn through new experiences and willing to ask for guidance or assistance when needed
  • BA/BS or equivalent experience
Preferred Experience
  • Experience supporting users in a financial services or trade desk environment
