Job Description:
Description WRAL-TV is seeking an IT Desktop Support Specialist. WRAL is owned by Capitol Broadcasting Company. CBC is a bold, future-thinking company, transforming media, and the community. The IT Desktop Support Specialist will provide end-user computing support across all CBC business lines and be responsible for the installation, support, and upkeep of IT systems such as workstations, telephony, security tools, inventory management, and service desk ticketing. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • This individual will carry out the problem resolution process from initial call to resolution.
  • Configure, deploy, and maintain PC and tablet systems running various operating systems (Microsoft, Apple, Android, etc.)
  • Assist with Cellular and Mobile account management.
  • Install, maintain, and upgrade computer software and hardware.
  • Maintain software and hardware inventory tracking systems as well as configuration documentation for deployed systems.
  • Ensure licensing is maintained properly for deployed systems through consistent documentation of license use.
  • Assist in the creation and maintenance of procedures and training documentation.
  • This position requires participation in a 24x7 on-call scheduled rotation.
  • Responsible for troubleshooting end user computer problems remotely.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • The successful candidate must have a minimum of two or more years' experience in desktop support.
  • Must be proficient with Active Directory, Microsoft Exchange, Microsoft O365, Windows 10 and 11, Virus and Malware defense, and security best practices.
  • Must be able to lift PC and server systems as appropriate.
  • Self-initiative, exemplary communications and customer services skills are necessary.
  • Occasional travel to other CBC sites as necessary.
  • Possess the ability to communicate effectively to understand the problem and explain its solution.
  • Situational critical thinking should be part of your troubleshooting regimen.
  • A college degree, relevant technical certifications, or equivalent work experience.
  • Experience with an enterprise ticketing solution such as ServiceNow, Remedy, or ServiceDesk Plus.
