Location: Cuyahoga Falls,OH, USA
Under the direction of the NEOnet Executive Director, the Desktop Support Specialist is responsible for the delivery of technical support services to educational entities associated with the NEOnet consortium. This job has a FLSA status of Non-Exempt.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and upgrading computer hardware, software, and peripheral equipment in a school setting.
* Installs, repairs and replaces LAN/WAN hardware/software and related peripheral equipment.
* Responds to work orders, resolves computer equipment malfunctions, prepares and maintains daily record of work orders, assists in maintaining inventory of computer hardware/software and provides inventory information on new equipment installation and changes in equipment status.
* Recognizes problems with computer hardware/software, using troubleshooting techniques and diagnostic tools.
* Provides technical support and assistance as needed to fellow computer repair technicians.
* Disassembles computer and related equipment for installation, upgrade and replacement of parts.
* Maintain desktops, PC's, Chromebooks and other electronic devices.
* Provide technical support for software and hardware issues.
* Maintain an understanding of computer peripherals and AV equipment.
* Must possess good organizational skills and be able to prioritize.
* Perform other duties as assigned by the NEOnet Executive Director.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
* Ability to read and understand software documentation, to develop instructional materials as needed, to conduct training programs in the use of software applications.
* Ability to work cooperatively and harmoniously with many individuals of varying backgrounds and to handle information professionally and confidentially.
* Ability to organize tasks into a logical and purposeful sequence.
* Familiarity with various computer systems and ability to use associated computer equipment.
* Ability to communicate with other employees and train others in the use of computer equipment.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
* High school diploma or equivalent.
* Ability to use software tools to perform needed tasks.

The employee frequently is required to reach with hands and arms, talk, or hear. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, taste and smell. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. The employee may occasionally be expected to move and/or lift 100 pounds or move but may obtain assistance or use equipment and carts to facilitate these tasks. Specific vision abilities by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
* Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently works near moving, mechanical parts and is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to occasionally loud.
The employee shall remain free of any alcohol or nonprescribed controlled substance abuse in the workplace throughout his/her employment in the Council.
