As a Desktop Support Specialist, you will provide essential on-site computer support for the educational workforce in both onsite and remote capacity. In this role you will manage the repairs of all hardware devices, for the technical support center staff (TSC), and escalate issues to senior leadership when needed. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Perform hardware repair support for Laptop Chromebook devices and submit all repair updates through the client's tracking system.
  • Create touchpoint communication stream for management, detailing operation repair per device and escalating as needed.
  • Provide Chromebook training and on-going assistance to support staff and end-users.
  • Stay abreast of software updates; incorporating best practices and providing the highest standard of care to support center staff.
  • Comprehension and alignment to established goals and objectives within the framework of the Worldgate Continuous Feedback Approach
  • Stay up to date on basic computer skills and best practices, such as word processing software, spreadsheet software, presentation software, Adobe software, email management, digital calendars, and video conferencing.
  • Responsible to understand Worldgate's mission, values, and behaviors (The Worldgate Way) and ensure that daily interactions with Worldgate internal and external parties align to Worldgate's values and behaviors.

RequirementsEDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, & CERTIFICATIONS:
  • High School Diploma
  • 1+ Years of IT support experience and/or customer service experience
SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:
  • Strong IT troubleshooting skills and critical thinking skills
  • Punctual, trustworthy and dependable
  • Strong communication and customer services skills
  • Ability to communicate in a positive, patient and professional manner
  • Proficiency in basic computer skills - word processing software, spreadsheet software, presentation software, Adobe software, email management, digital calendars, and video conferencing
  • Ensure compliance with criminal background check standards by maintaining a clear record throughout employment tenure
