Desktop Support Technician HP Tuners LLC is a global leader in the automotive aftermarket, developing software and hardware for vehicle calibration. We are growing rapidly and are looking to add a Desktop Support Technician to our team. The Desktop Support Technician is responsible for providing technical support and assistance to end-users within the organization. This role involves troubleshooting hardware and software issues, maintaining IT equipment, and ensuring a seamless operation of workstations, laptops, printers, and other employee used devices. This position reports to the IT Systems Engineer Lead. This a full-time position and is 5-days onsite in Buffalo Grove with a daily shift time of 8am to 4pm.Essential Duties and Responsibilities •Identifies, investigates, and resolves users' problems with computer software and hardware. •Fields support calls, chat, email, and/or other communication from users with inquiries regarding software programming, connectivity, printing, and similar concerns. •Consults with users to determine steps and procedures taken to identify and resolve the problem. •Applies knowledge of computer software, hardware, and procedures to solve problems. •Guides users through diagnostic and troubleshooting processes, which may include use of diagnostic tools and software and/or following verbal instructions. •Collaborates with other staff to research and resolve problems. •Arranges service by software or hardware vendors to repair or replace defective products. •Maintains knowledge of technology innovations and trends. •Investigates solutions for problems with unknown resolutions. •Educate and train users on best practices and troubleshooting techniques to minimize future issues. •Maintains a high level of customer satisfaction by delivering professional and efficient support. •Performs other related duties as assigned. Requirements Skills and Qualifications •CompTIA A+ or equivalent certification. •At least three years of experience in customer technical support highly preferred. •Ability to explain technical issues to technical and non-technical employees. •Strong analytical skills. •Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software. •Proficient with or the ability to quickly learn an array of computer hardware and software. •Knowledge of the aftermarket car and/or automotive industry is preferred. •Hands on experience with user grade IT equipment, including but not limited to: Desktops, Laptops, Smart Phones, Smart TVs, Conference Room Equipment, etc. Other Qualifications •Strong communication and interpersonal skills. •Ability to work on multiple projects in various stages simultaneously. •Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills. •Takes initiative. Physical Requirements •Working Conditions: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to reach and carry items from one area to another, speak professionally and politely, and actively listen. •Carry and move weight up to 50lbs. •Minimum dexterity for cabling in hard-to-reach places. Compensation and Benefits At HP Tuners LLC, we understand that compensation plays a key role when considering a new opportunity. The estimated base rate range for this position is $28.00-$30.00 per hour, with actual pay determined including factors such as location, skills, experience, and other relevant considerations.
