Description
The Legislative Research Commission is accepting applications for the position of Desktop Systems Support Specialist in OCIT. This position is nonpartisan in nature and requires the ability to work with neutrality in a politically charged environment.

This is a permanent, full-time position with benefits including health and life insurance; retirement plan; and paid holidays, vacation, and sick days. Compensatory time is awarded on an hour-for-hour basis with prior approval.
Job Duties:
* Assist with trouble-shooting and problem resolution for PCs, printers, remote technologies, VoIP devices, webcams, basic network problems, and other technology as needed.
* Assist with improvements, upgrades, and repairs.
* Document all service desk interactions.
* Receive and respond daily to requests for computer assistance for LRC staff and legislators, and document all interactions in a logging or ticketing system.
* Perform other duties as assigned.
Desired Skills and Abilities:
* Fundamental understanding of local area network components, peripheral devices, and systems.
* Beginning knowledge of service desk concepts, practices, procedures, network components, workstations, and software products.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Customer service skills.
* Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and detail-oriented skill set.
* Ability to work under pressure and meet specific deadlines.
* Ability to resolve routine problems with written instructions and/or supervision.
Minimum Requirements
EDUCATION: Associate's degree in computer science or a related field
EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS: No direct experience is needed. Limited relevant/business experience and knowledge is required. Education may be substituted for experience and experience may be substituted for education at the discretion of the supervisor/manager.
