Job Description:
Our client is hiring a Desktop Support Technician onsite in San Antonio, TX.The Desktop Technician is responsible for providing a high level of technical support for the Windows 11 upgrade rollout. Will be helping users identify upgrade issues, determine best process to move the upgrade install to completion. This position will also support Help Desk when needed in the areas of walk-in Windows 11 upgrade support, imaging new laptops, and coordination with Windows 11 system administrator. This position will be an in-person (at HQ 3rd Floor) office.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • On-site support that provides first/second level support and follow-up, through the Help Desk, to the client's user community regarding computer operations, hardware components, and software applications on multiple platform environments as it relates to Windows 11 upgrade.
  • Interviews user, analyzes user's concern, reviews procedures and actions taken by user, and instructs user to perform diagnostic procedures in order to determine and complete the resolution/escalation of the user's concern.
  • Documents user's concerns and associated resolutions through Work Order ticket system.
  • Troubleshoots, configures, repairs, reimages, and issues laptops.
  • Performs remote troubleshooting and installation of software applications.
  • Will be trained to applies SAWS procedures for MS Office, Windows 11, and install software from several portals available to environment.
  • Establishes and maintains effective working relationships and public relations.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
DECISION MAKINGThis position works under general supervision.This position will be provided functional guidance as to how the client has developed the Windows 11 upgrade process between two teams.MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Three years' experience performing desktop support and help desk functions or related work.
  • Proficient in word processing, spreadsheets, databases, time and attendance, and presentation software.
  • Microsoft Certified Desktop Support Technician or A+ certification or related experience.
  • Ability to report to work on time, maintain a good attendance record, and work all designated work schedules.
