Summary
The Detailer is responsible for utilizing various cleaning equipment and products to ensure that all vehicles are clean, inside, and out, and ready for the customer.
Education and Experience
+ High School diploma and 1-2 years experience in a shop environment, and/or vehicle detailing, gained through work experience or vocational training.
+ Previous detailing experience preferred, but not required.
+ Must be able to cut, buff and polish an exterior of a tractor or trailer.
+ Must be self-motivated, able to multi-task and work independently.
+ Must be a team player, amenable to a variety of work projects.
+ Must be proficient in responding to internal and external customer situations, responding to customer needs as required.
+ Must be able to both think creatively and provide creative contributions to projects.
+ Must be available to work occasional overtime, Saturdays, and other shift vacancies as needed
+ Must have forklift certification or become certified within 90 days of employment; valid drivers license preferred.
+ Must be able to demonstrate a proactive commitment to ATS corporate values and the success of all staff.
+ Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook) required.
+ Excellent communication skills (written, listening, and verbal).
+ Willing and able to travel infrequently, including overnight travel.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
+ Review the work order for each tractor or trailer before beginning any work.
+ Pre-wash tractors and trailers before repair, using a variety of cleaning products and equipment.
+ Vacuum the entire tractor to remove any dirt and debris.
+ Inspect all tractors and trailers for any flaws to ensure quality standards.
+ Clean and remove dirt in the engine compartments.
+ Perform complete detail after tractor and trailer repairs have been completed.
+ Work with other departments to ensure a quality product and on-time delivery.
+ Organize and monitor inventory levels of Detailer department supplies, working with the Parts department, to ensure appropriate levels of equipment are on hand.
+ Maintain all detailing equipment to ensure proper performance.
+ Provide superior customer service to internal customers and drivers.
+ Maintain workstation cleanliness for effective and safe use by putting away tools and equipment, sweeping, and throwing away any garbage.
+ Understands and consistently performs in accordance with ATS's Mission, Vision, and Values.
+ Support ATS culture by aligning actions, behaviors, performance, and decisions in accordance with the Companys values as set forth in our All-Employee Competencies.
+ Complete work responsibilities outside of normal business hours as needed and infrequent travel may be required.
+ Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Frequently moving about to obtain tools, supplies, and parts and to inspect equipment.
Constantly uses hand tools and power hand tools to repair equipment, manipulate parts into position, or enter data into a computer.
Constantly inspecting and assessing equipment to determine whether to replace or repair and the best approach to replace/repair.
Intermittently communicates with others regarding work questions, processes, procedures, and timelines.
Must be able to move/position parts, tools equipment:
+ From 1 to 10 lbs. Frequently
+ From 11 to 25 lbs. frequently
+ From 25 to 50 lbs. occasionally
+ Over 50 lbs. occasionally
Exposure to:
+ Loud noises constantly requiring hearing protection.
+ Temperature extremes intermittently due to outside weather conditions.
+ Dirt, dust, grease, chemicals, and odors constantly.
+ Situations requiring eye protection and steel toed boots and when welding, an approved shield.
