Job Type Full-time Description
- Maintain a personal, active relationship with Jesus Christ and be a strong Christian witness in all interactions with youth, staff, donors, volunteers, and the general public to uphold Black Mountain Home's mission of Glorifying God by caring for children and families.
- Attend staff and team meetings, including participation in Christian devotions and prayer.
- Pray regularly for the youth, staff, volunteers, donors, and ministry impact.
- Support the development and community relations team's efforts to create, implement, and evaluate fundraising and marketing strategies to provide the resources needed to sustain and grow the ministry.
- Leads efforts to engage and continuously increase support from individuals, businesses, churches, and other organizations to broaden annual giving and create pipelines for increased giving.
- Represent the ministry, including all its programs and departments, in the community, including, but not limited to, meeting with donors, calling on businesses, attending church services, and other activities.
- Develop and implement stewardship and retention strategies for key constituencies.
- Assist with frontline stewardship activities, such as answering phones, greeting visitors, processing mail, assisting with deposits, and others as needed, to provide backup and support to the team.
- Provide backup and support for events, tours, special projects, community relations, social media, and other development team duties, as needed.
- Work independently and collaboratively, problem solve, be a learner, and maintain a continuous improvement approach to skills and tasks.
- Other projects as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Raiser's Edge, or similar donor database platforms.
- Three years experience in the following areas:
