FLSA: Non-Exempt (Hourly) REVISED: 10/29/2024REPORTS TO: Director of Development SUPERVISES: NonePosition Summary:Responsible for systems and logistics that support an active Development Program, including all donordata management, donor stewardship, and additional support to The Animal Foundation's fundraising,special event, grants, and other development-related activities.Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Manages and maintains donor database including generating reports, entering and importingcontact and gift data, and tracking constituent engagement. Ensures integrity and consistency ofall donor files. Creates reports and analyzes development activity, including weekly fundraising reports andother database reports as needed to help with campaign planning. Helps to manage donor stewardship activities and communications, including generating thankyou letters, gift acknowledgment and recognition plans, and building engagement contact lists asrequired for all types of donors. Handles all gift entry, processing, and deposits and ensures proper coding and posting ofdonations as the liaison between the development and accounting departments Fields inquiries to the Development Department through the donations email address and phonenumber. Provides information and assistance to internal and external contacts as required. Provides support for fundraising events including running reports for invite lists, entering donationrecords, securing auction and raffle items, and other database/administrative event support asrequested. Conducts donor and prospect research to help identify opportunities for additional funding forprograms and initiatives and provides support to Major Gift activities Supports the Direct Mail program through exporting mailing lists and importing data as neededand writing content and selecting photographs for semiannual Direct Mail newsletters Represents The Animal Foundation in all interactions and presents a positive public image. Assists in the duties of the Kennel Club, including ordering and placing signage, donorrecruitment, and end of year reporting. Collaborates with departments and third parties to manage public and private wish lists fordonations, including donation drives. Serves as the Organization's main point of contact todisseminate donated goods to appropriate departments. Coordinates with Finance to create and request Board pledges and dues. Contributes to the efficiency and effectiveness of the organization's service to its guests byoffering suggestions and participating as an active member of a work team. Provides responsive, meaningful, and compassionate service to all guests as outlined in theOrganization's Guest Service Charter. Applies the principles of The Animal Foundation's Core Values toward the goal of bettering self,the organization, and others. Other duties as assigned.Education and Experience Requirements: Equivalent to a Bachelor's degree. Three (3) years of professional experience with database management/CRM expertise,preferably with Raiser's Edge. Non-profit experience preferred. Equivalent combination of formal education and appropriate related experience may beconsidered.License & Certification Requirements:Some positions may require the incumbent to be at least 21 years of age and possess and maintain avalid Class C Nevada Driver's License. Those under age 25 would have to possess and maintain a cleandriving record and would have been licensed for at least three years prior. Those over age 25 would haveto possess and maintain a safe driving record that will allow for acceptable insurance risk to theFoundation.Required Knowledge and Skills:Knowledge of: Database administration including a basic understanding of report generation, data uploading,and query formatting. Technical language usage sufficient to be able to draft and edit business letters. Microsoft Office functionality including advanced operation of Excel, Word Processing, and MailMerge. Standard office practices and procedures, including record-keeping systems and the operation ofoffice equipment, computers, and associated software. Techniques for dealing effectively with co-workers and the public, in-person and over thetelephone. Correct business English, including spelling, grammar, and punctuation.Skill in: Dealing tactfully and effectively with staff, volunteers, and the general public. Use of business software and associated computer hardware. Communicating effectively in oral and written forms. Working without close supervision in standard work situations. Contributing effectively to the accomplishment of team or work unit goals, objectives, andactivities. Preparing clear and concise reports, correspondence, instructions, and other written materials. Excellent project management skills. Ability to successfully manage different projects at once. Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to maintain confidentiality.Working Conditions and Physical Effort:Physical ability and mobility to work in a typical office environment. Strength to lift and/or move materialsweighing up to 10 pounds frequently, 25 pounds occasionally. Vision to read printed materials. Staminato sit and work with a computer for an extended period of time. Hearing and speech to communicate inperson or over the telephone.
