As the Development Director, you will be pivotal in driving the organization's fundraising efforts and strategic initiatives. Reporting to the Executive Director, you will leverage your core skills in databases, marketing, and CRM software to enhance donor engagement and support sustainable development goals. Your premium skills in negotiation, event planning, and public relations will be essential in cultivating relationships and securing funding. Additionally, your relevant expertise in nonprofit management and social media will help elevate the organization's mission and outreach efforts.
The key duties of the Development Director include:
- Develop strategies to create funding sources, develop funding strategies and goals linked to the Mission , Vision and Values of Eden II.
- Donor relationships and new relationships- cultivate current donors and strategize and execute a plan to expand the donor pool on behalf of Eden II.
- Working with the Board and Executive, build an events planning program to solicit and secure funding.
- Understanding the grants field and identify and secure grants to support the Mission, Vision andValues of Eden II.
- Create and implement an operating budget to accomplish the strategic goals of the Development Department.
- Working with internal staff, create and disseminate various types of development/marketing communiques to further brand Eden II and solicit funds.
- Routinely reports to the Executive their attainment of goals, strategy implementation and as directed also provides information to the Board.
- Works under deadlines, manages stress and can deliver outcomes in a rapid environment.
- Supervise development team, including events coordinator, database manager, and grants coordinator
Education & Skills:
- Degreed individual with a background in a field related to Development.
- Fluent in Microsoft Excel, Word, etc.
- Experience with Donor Perfect preferred.
Experience:
- 5 + years of non-profit development experience with demonstrated success in creating sustainable development programs to grow the organization.
- Could possibly become a Chief Development Officer position depending on experience.
This position would require the employee to onsite in Staten Island, as well as in Long Island on occasions.
