OverviewWe are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Development Manager to join our team in the Bay Area. The primary responsibility of this role is to spearhead our fundraising efforts, ensuring a steady flow of resources to support our operations and programs. The key to your success in this role will be:
- Your experience managing philanthropic giving or sales from end-to-end, including engagement, closing and stewardship

- Understanding and experience in running signature events and proposal writing
ResponsibilitiesFundraising Strategy and Implementation
- Develop and implement a comprehensive fundraising strategy to identify and cultivate potential donors, including individuals, corporations, foundations, and government agencies.
- Collaborate with the leadership team to set fundraising goals and targets aligned with Karya's mission and objectives.
- Organize and execute various fundraising campaigns, events, and initiatives to engage donors and raise awareness about Karya's work.
- Maintain and nurture relationships with existing donors, ensuring their continued support and engagement.
Donor Stewardship and Communication
- Serve as the primary point of contact for donors, providing exceptional customer service and fostering long-term relationships.
- Develop and implement donor recognition and appreciation programs to acknowledge and celebrate their contributions.
- Prepare compelling proposals, grant applications, and reports to secure funding from diverse sources.
- Represent Karya at various events, meetings, and conferences to promote our mission and fundraising initiatives.
Data Management and Reporting
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date donor records, tracking donations, pledges, and communication history.
- Analyse fundraising data and metrics to identify trends, evaluate the effectiveness of campaigns, and make data-driven decisions.
- Prepare and present regular reports to the leadership team, highlighting fundraising progress, challenges, and opportunities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as nonprofit management, business administration, or marketing.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in fundraising, donor relations, or related roles within the non-profit sector.
- Proven track record of successfully developing and implementing fundraising strategies and campaigns.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with donors and stakeholders.
- Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to multitask and meet deadlines.
- Proficiency in donor management software and database management.
- Familiarity with the Bay Area philanthropic landscape and donor community is preferred.
