An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.Preferred QualificationsJob Description Summary The University of South Alabama's department of Development and Alumni Relations is seeking to hire a Development Officer. Interested candidates should apply to be considered.Essential Functions These are the job duties required of the position.Essential Functions
  • Develops and implements fundraising goals in support of USA Health priorities.
  • Develops strong relationships with both internal and external constituents to, identify, cultivate, solicit and steward individual prospects.
  • Using metrics and direction defined by the division, manages a portfolio of prospective donors and conducts substantive contacts per month.
  • Works in concert with other Development staff to coordinate research requests, prospect identification and donor contacts.
  • Negotiates gifts in accordance with adopted gift acceptance policies and procedures.
  • Provides appropriate stewardship and follows through once gifts are made.
  • Assists in coordinating and staffing fundraising and donor stewardship events, which may require working nights and weekends.
  • Travels for meetings and events that may require overnight stays.
  • Accesses and maintains donor and prospective donor information using the departmental database.
  • Regular and prompt attendance.
  • Ability to work schedule as defined and additional hours as required.
  • Related duties as required.
