THE OPPORTUNITY:

The Development Project Manager will oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of software development projects, ensuring that they are completed on time, within scope, and aligned with business objectives. The role requires a strong understanding of project management methodologies, software development processes, and the ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels. The ideal candidate will coordinate with development teams, product managers, and stakeholders to deliver high-quality solutions while managing risks, resolving issues, and driving continuous improvement.

This is a hybrid position, with on-site days based in Detroit Lakes, MN.

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8a-5p, 45+ hours per week

A Typical Day (job functions) | Goal Setting + Assign Work + Collaborate + Communicate

* Lead the end-to-end management of development projects, including defining project scope, goals, and deliverables.

* Develop detailed project plans, timelines, resource allocation, and risk mitigation strategies.

* Oversee all stages of the project lifecycle, ensuring deliverables are met on time and within budget.

* Act as the primary liaison between development teams, product owners, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment on project goals.

* Facilitate communication and collaboration across cross-functional teams, driving accountability and clarity.

* Review and research items submitted to development queue. Organize and prioritize projects based on business impact and feasibility.

* Analyze and document business requirements in a clear and detailed manner. Transform into detailed, actionable items for the development team.

* Work closely with developers to ensure a common understanding of requirements and address any clarification needs.

* Lead daily/weekly stand-up meetings, sprint planning, and retrospectives.

* Identify and assess risks to project timelines, quality, and scope.

* Develop and implement mitigation strategies to address project risks and ensure successful outcomes.

* Provide regular project updates, status reports, and performance metrics to stakeholders and leadership.

* Ensure transparency and clear communication regarding project timelines, challenges, and successes.

* Provide ongoing support to developers throughout the development life cycle, addressing questions and clarifications.

* Participate in the review and validation of deliverables to ensure they meet the specified requirements.

* Analyze project performance and identify opportunities for improvement in workflows, tools, and processes.

* Promote best practices in project management, agile methodologies, and development processes.

Skills (qualifications) | Servant Leadership + Multi-task + Problem Solve + NIMBLE + TEAMwork

* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field.

* PMP, PRINCE2, Agile Certified Practitioner (ACP), or similar certification is a plus.

* 3-5 years of experience managing software development projects or in a similar project management role.

* Proven experience in leading projects using Agile, Scrum, or Kanban methodologies.

* Experience working with cross-functional development teams, including designers, developers, and QA engineers.

* Strong knowledge of software development lifecycles (SDLC) and project management methodologies (Agile, Scrum, Waterfall).

* Excellent leadership and team-building skills.

* Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.

* Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.

* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

* Proficiency in project management software (e.g., JIRA, Trello, Microsoft Project, etc.).

* Ability to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

* Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.

* A collaborative mindset, with the ability to work effectively across teams and departments.

* Welcoming of change; nimble and open minded

* Personable, friendly, energetic, humble, optimistic, and have a good sense of humor
