We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced DevOps Solution Architect to join our team. In this role, you will work directly with Software Application Engineering Teams to understand the application architecture, development, testing, and observability/supportability requirements. You will collaborate with the Application Architect to plan for the physical architecture and application infrastructure, ensuring security, scalability, and availability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with Software Application Engineering Teams to understand application architecture, development, testing, and observability/supportability requirements.
- Define the physical architecture and application infrastructure, considering security, scalability, and availability.
- Partner with Infrastructure, Platform Engineering, and DevOps team members to plan and implement all tiers for development/testing, staging, UAT, and production environments.
- Manage budgets, licensing, and general timeline requirements for projects.
- Ensure the implementation of best practices for CI/CD, monitoring, and automation.
- Develop and maintain documentation related to architecture, processes, and procedures.
- Provide technical leadership and guidance to development and operations teams.
- Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies to ensure our solutions remain cutting-edge.
- Vet new technologies prior to implementation to evaluate fit, security, costs, support, maintenance and vendor reputation.
- Manage and maintain the DevOps Platform and Portal, providing a single place for communication, collaboration, data gathering, and analysis. This portal will eliminate issues surrounding toolchain sprawl, maintenance, and integration.
- Leverage Azure DevOps On-Premise and ensure seamless integration with hybrid solutions (combined cloud and on-premise environments).
- Communicate effectively and deliver presentations to executive-level team members.
- Exhibit strong listening and persuasion skills to influence and align stakeholders.
- Be an integral part of the DevOps team, providing value and strong service to all software engineering teams with a customer-oriented mindset.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a DevOps Architect or in a similar role.
- Strong understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and Agile methodologies.
- Expertise in CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, CircleCI).
- Proficiency with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
- Experience with infrastructure as code (IaC) tools (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation).
- Knowledge of containerization and orchestration tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Experience working with hybrid solutions (combined cloud and on-premise environments).
- Experience with building and customizing Developer Portals such as backstage.io or Humanitec.
- Strong listening and persuasion skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Masters degree in a related field.
- Certifications in relevant technologies (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Certified Kubernetes Administrator).
- Experience with monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack, Dynatrace).
