Overview:
A public sector client of ours in Austin, Texas is looking for a DevOps Engineer for a 6-month hybrid contract opportunity that is expected to extend. Due to the nature of the role, they are currently only considering remote candidates in or around the Austin area. This role will be 4 days remote and 1 onsite in their Austin office.
The DevOps Engineer will be responsible for:
- Designing and implementing systems that are highly available, scalable, and self-healing.
- Creating and maintaining tools to automate operational processes on AWS.
- Automating security controls, governance processes, and compliance validation within AWS environments.
- Collaborating closely with developers to implement continuous delivery systems and methodologies on AWS.
- Defining and deploying monitoring, metrics, and logging systems on AWS.
- Building tools and processes to enhance infrastructure support.
- Sharing expertise and knowledge within the team to promote best practices.
Minimum Job Qualifications:
- Experience with industry-standard tools for infrastructure monitoring, application performance monitoring, visualization, and alerting
- Required: 4 years
- Experience in automation and testing via scripting & programming (TFS, PowerShell, Python, Ruby, Java)
- Required: 4 years
- Strong background in Agile Principles / Continuous Integration / Continuous Delivery
- Required: 4 years
- Experience with Public cloud (AWS, Azure, GCP, or similar) DevOps design, engineering, and support
- Required: 4 years
- Strong experience in Configuration Management and Release Management
- Required: 4 years
Preferred Job Qualifications
- Experience in best practices for optimizing IT infrastructure, providing policies, standards, and guidelines
- Preferred: 8 years
- Demonstrated experience working in cross-functional engineering teams that incorporate software developers, QA, and product managers
- Preferred: 7 years
- Clear written and verbal communication
- Preferred: 7 years
- Certified in at least one: AWS DevOps Engineering, AWS Certified Developer - Associate, or AWS Certified SysOps Administrator - Associate
- Preferred: 1 year
- Preferred graduation with a Bachelor's degree in CS, CIS, Math, or similar technical degree
- Preferred: 1 year
