The Vacancy This individual is responsible for providing working leadership to the assembly team and modeling the Megger values: Caring; Consistent; Captivating; Confident; Creative. As a leader in the manufacturing team, the Assembly Group Leader will assist the Manager of Lean Manufacturing in the following: distributing and driving the execution of the production schedule; reporting quality and scheduling deviations to the Manager of Lean Manufacturing, the Production controller, and/or the Manager of Quality; transacting work orders in SAP; running Gemba meetings as needed; driving and applying 6S initiatives; training team members to perform new tasks and assembly roles. The Assembly Group Leader must effectively communicate (oral and written) with assembly employees and other departmental personnel. The Assembly Group Leader must take personal responsibility to prevent accidents and injuries by observing established working rules, execute the principles taught in Megger safety training and provide ideas to further strengthen the program. Essential Job Responsibilities:
- Provide technical direction to assembly team with methods and the operation of equipment
- Prepare and provide assembly instructions, blueprint specifications, parts, tools, and materials for Assembly Team to complete product assembly operations
- Monitor work performance and drive productivity in assigned areas
- Assist assembly personnel in solving work problems
- Drive continuous improvement projects
- Assist the development and fabrication of intricate prototype models utilizing schematics, drawings, and other engineering documentation as required
- Assist in improving inventory controls, BOM accuracy/correction to achieve KPI goals for cycle count performance of +90% accuracy and a first pass yield of +95%.
- Partner with manufacturing engineers and assemblers to document and resolve production questions and issues during new product development CBA builds
- Initiate preventative actions relative to production optimization issues
- Assist manufacturing engineers with design/layout of equipment and workspace flow, development of work instructions to standardize assembly processes and train team members to this standard
- Recommend measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product
- Verify quality of product at required intervals and verify accuracy of work
- Work with Manufacturing and Engineering to submit changes in assembly requirements and BOM changes tracking (ECR)
- Interfacing with other departments to ensure customer deadlines are met

Specific Technical Requirements:

Mathematical Skills: - This position must be capable of performing basic mathematical equations
Minimum Skill Sets and Competencies:
- 7-10 years related assembly experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Previous experience training staff on assembly best practices, work instructions and quality requirements
- Ability to perform electromechanical system troubleshooting and repair to component level
- Demonstrated ability to multi-task across different functions and functional areas
- Demonstrated ability to read/understand product design schematics and prints, assembly documentation, and component datasheets
- Experience and understanding of product assembly methods and fundamentals
- Experience working safely with Low/High Voltages
- Have a knowledge of RoHS compliance and directives
- Associate degree or other applicable technical degree recommended but not required
- High School Diploma or equivalent is required
Additional Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Knowledge of MS office suite, Outlook, Word, Excel.
- Observe good housekeeping and safety practices, keep equipment, tools, and area clean and orderly (6S).
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
