Activities include: installation, repair, maintenance, and calibration of specialized imaging equipment. Adheres to instructions and corporate policies, and demonstrates professionalism with integrity in all interactions with customers and staff. Travel across multiple sites may be required in the performance of assigned duties. Perform preventative maintenance and trouble shoot problems with highly sophisticated mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and computer based technology. The incumbent may provide training to colleagues, vendors and other personnel of the Yale New Haven Health System. They may participate in the delivery of clinical education sessions to educate staff, students and others on the operation, hazards and healthcare necessity of the equipment. Diagnostic Imaging Engineer III provides assistance, expertise and guidance in the installation of diagnostic imaging devices and required provisions such as power, IT network, and mounting. In order to be effective in the position the employee will be able to express ideas clearly and in a professional manner both orally and in writing. The interpersonal skills necessary for the position include effective communication to a wide variety of internal and external customers which foster a positive impression of YNHHS. The position does require on-call duties which will require occasional weekend and off hours work. There are travel requirements for the position which include support of YNHHS entities for Clinical Engineering purposes as well as training assignments in a broader geography.EEO/AA/Disability/Veteran
Responsibilities:EDUCATION
Diagnostic imaging modality training from an OEM, third party or military training required. An associates or bachelors degree in a technical field through mechanical, electrical, biomedical preferred or other proven comparable education level required.
EXPERIENCE
Technical acumen with seven (7) years of related technical experience with demonstrated ability to repair complex electronic systems with five (5) years working directly on Diagnostic Imaging equipment. An associates degree with six (6) years of related technical experience with demonstrated ability to repair complex electronic systems with five (5) years working directly on Diagnostic Imaging equipment. A bachelors degree with five (5) years of related technical experience with demonstrated ability to repair complex electronic systems with three (3) years working directly on Diagnostic Imaging equipment. Demonstrated ability to service multi-modality/multi-vendor diagnostic imaging systems with minimal OEM support. Demonstrated ability to manage installation/de-installation of complex diagnostic imaging systems.
SPECIAL SKILLS
Must be proficient in the use electronic schematics, blueprints, service manuals, and direction provided via phone. Knowledge and daily use of safety policies, procedures, personal protective equipment, safety data sheets, and universal precautions. Ability to use and interpret information from highly specialized test equipment. Ability to effectively lead the work of others. Ability to prioritize and handle high pressure situations. Ability to work with OEM, and third party vendors to maintain and return diagnostic imaging devices to working order and ensure patients and operators are exposed to minimal radiation dose possible.

Valid Driver?s License required, Ability to travel to multiple locations, ability to work flexible hours, including on-call and overtime.
