Job Description: UPMC Somerset is seeking a Diagnostic Technologist to join their team of life-changers! This position will work evening shifts with no weekends and rotating holiday requirement. As a Diagnostic Technologist, you'll perform imaging procedures at a technical level not requiring constant supervision. Competently performs a variety of technical procedures that require independent judgment, ingenuity and initiative to apply prescribed ionizing radiation for diagnostic purposes.\n UPMC is excited to offer a generous sign-on bonus of up to $15,000 dependent on your experience and eligibility. This sign-on bonus will require a 2-year commitment.Responsibilities:\n\nIdentify patients using two identifiers and follow universal protocol for procedures.\nReview patient history and physician orders, applying departmental protocols.\nDocument patient history in electronic records as needed.\nAdminister PO and rectal contrast per physician orders and department policy.\nEnsure exams are coded, tracked, networked to ISITE, and charges entered.\nPerform diagnostic radiography procedures independently using established protocols.\nUse complex imaging equipment for data acquisition, analysis, and documentation.\nInteract with patients and co-workers with care, respect, and teamwork.\nPerform technical procedures with independent judgment and appropriate radiation use.\nCommunicate instructions clearly to patients, explaining procedures to ease their fears.\n\nGraduate of an ARRT approved school of Radiologic Technology or verification from ARRT approved school of completion of program and scheduled graduation date.\n\nTechnologists hired before graduation will have indirect supervision by an ARRT certified diagnostic technologist until the degree is verified.\n\n\n\n Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:\n\nARRT Registry eligible as a Radiologic Technologist.
