Summary:Job Description The Dicer is responsible for the operation of Urschel slicing and dicing equipment. A person in this position will learn to be familiar with the equipment to be able rotate to all machines.Duties and responsibilities
- Examine, measure, and weigh products to verify conformance to specifications
- Monitor operation of machine to detect malfunctions or to determine whether product needs replenishment
- Adjust machine controls to alter position, alignment, speed or pressure
- Remove completed products from machines and stack or store them for additional processing
- Remove substandard product from machines and readjust machine components so that products meet standards.
- Move stock or waste to and from machines manually using carts, hand trucks or lift trucks.
- Responsible for various support functions in the process area such as, cleaning machine parts after changeovers, discarding trash/waste, monitoring levels.
- Records daily machine and process information
- Must operate within Quality Assurance specifications
- Responsible for the removal and disposal of waste as needed, including but not limited to the machine waste catch pans.
- Must follow all rules set by the GMP, and SQF and attend all related meeting and/or training sessions. Must complete post operation checklists that are associated with written allergens programs and HACCP.
- Must wear proper PPE for performing each duty. Must report unsafe equipment to Supervisor on duty. Follow all safety guidelines.
- Changes and maintains Urschel slicer/dicer heads to maintain quality and consistent slices.
- Must keep work area clean and organized at all times.
- May be requested to temporarily cover work assignments in other areas of production
- Machine operators are expected to follow proper use and operation of the equipment assigned
- Keep your Supervisor informed of any problem related to your equipment
- Notify your Supervisor of any unsafe practice
- Do not attempt to open an electrical panel
- Clean your equipment before being delivered to maintenance
- Do not connect or disconnect any equipment unless you have been trained.
- Do not spray direct water to a motor or an electrical panel
- Do not move equipment unless you have been told and properly trained. (Disconnect first)

QualificationsQualifications include:
- Must have basic computer skills
Working conditions
- Must be able to work in wet and cold environments for longer than 8 hour a day.
- Our production floor is 34-38 degrees fahrenheit
Must pass a pre-employment background check and drug test
