Dick Clark Productions is one of the largest global producers of live televised event programming. Tentpole live events include the Golden Globe Awards, Academy of Country Music Awards, the American Music Awards, the Billboard Music Awards, Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve with Ryan Seacrest, Streamy Awards, and 16-time Emmy Award-winning series So You Think You Can Dance.

The VP, Production will be responsible for tracking the slate of projects across all distribution channels including specials, series, and digital content. This role will collaborate with a nimble team across all levels of production and will support the budgeting of all in-house projects. The right VP candidate will have extensive experience and understanding of development, current production, and live events.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Reports to SVP of Production across all projects in various stages of development, production, postproduction, and cost reporting
  • Partner with, support, and collaborate with ancillary departments within dcp
  • Oversee the production and programming budgets including originals, archival library content, and other projects in development
  • Oversee and monitor deals with 3rd party production partners
  • Vet vendors, cost compare, recommend and inform the Procurement Department of findings
  • Must have a robust network of contacts and production personnel with the right sensibilities for each project
  • Coordinate, organize, and track deliverables with networks, streaming platforms, partners, and global distributors

Your experience, skills, and attributes:

  • 5-7 years in a leadership position in television/film/content management, and/or development
  • Minimum 7 years of Entertainment Industry experience
  • Experience and working understanding of live, documentary, scripted and reality television
  • Experience supervising and leading a large team
  • Demonstrated success in building and maintaining strategic relationships in the media and entertainment industries resulting in a wide network of industry contacts
  • Able to work cross-functionally with peers, subordinates, superiors, and key external clients across all business units
  • Sophisticated and highly developed written and verbal communication skills; excellent presentation skills
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail. Must be able to generate high-quality material in a fast paced, dynamic environment; manage multiple projects at once; and flexibly respond to rapidly changing priorities in order to meet the dynamics of a competitive marketplace
  • Able to work flexible hours including some nights and weekends based on business need
  • Willing and able to travel as needed for business
  • Data-driven and resourcefulness are key skill sets
  • Demonstrated understanding of the Dick Clark Productions brand
  • A high level of initiative and drive. Natural sense of ownership for projects and duties
  • Communication skills for credibility at all levels of the organization; demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Must possess strong leadership abilities to lead, manage and influence others with ability to drive change effectively across functional areas
  • Must possess strong collaborative and team building skills

Typical wage range: $180k - $220k + annual discretionary bonus. Factors that could be used to determine your actual salary may include your specific skills, years of experience and comparison to current employees already in this role. The typical candidate is hired below midpoint of the range. The total compensation package for this position will also include other elements, a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits including 401(k) eligibility and paid time off benefits.
